The people and purpose behind the product

About AIccommodate

AIccommodate helps educators put recorded learner supports to work in classroom materials. Our mission is practical: bring the assignment, prepare a draft, and keep the teacher’s judgment at the center. The teacher stays the expert.

Meet the founders

Classroom experience and data expertise shape how we build the product and work with schools.

Brad Katz

Brad Katz

Co-founder · Product

Brad designs and builds AIccommodate, drawing on five years as a classroom teacher. His first tool was built for the special education team at the school where he taught. He leads product development, onboarding and educator training, and is a Certified GenAI Literacy Trainer through AI for Education. He designed and led charter-wide generative AI training using the Human-AI-Human framework: educators bring their knowledge, use AI to prepare a draft, and apply their judgment before sharing it. His work centers on how teachers prepare and adapt materials for their classrooms.

Tyler Kent

Tyler Kent

Our philosophy

Accommodations should be built in, not bolted on. The goal is not faster paperwork — it is practical access to the same material students are already expected to learn.

  • Teachers lead. AI assists.

The educator stays the expert. Bring your lesson, passage, rubric, or assignment, then check the draft before using it. AI supports your decisions; it does not take responsibility for them.

  • The gap is capacity, not knowledge.

Teachers and special education teams know what students need. The missing piece is usually bandwidth, time, energy, and resources. AI can help prepare drafts for teacher review.

  • Every learner is capable.

Struggle is not inability. Too often a student gets a dumbed-down version instead of real access. Removing the barrier is teaching, not extra work.

  • Privacy is non-negotiable.

We screen recognized names and identifying details before AI processing. Screening can miss information, and audio and image processing have different limits. Our Privacy Policy describes the safeguards, provider terms and limitations.

  • UDL is the foundation.

Engagement, Representation, Action & Expression. Student interests, preferences, and needs belong inside the generation flow, not as an afterthought.

  • Built for educators.

AIccommodate brings assignment content, recorded supports and draft materials into one workflow so educators can review and adapt the work for their classrooms.

How it works

One simple loop keeps the educator in control from import to final review. AI does not create the course for you; it accommodates the course you are already teaching.

  • Import

Paste text, upload a file or photo, or import supported content from Canvas, Google Classroom, Google Drive or a URL. Review the imported content before adapting it.

  • Insights

AI reads the material, student context, learning preferences, and UDL alignment, then recommends the right path. You decide what matters.

  • Create

Generate differentiated versions, scaffolds, vocabulary, organizers, visual supports, and tutoring setups. Review, revise, save. The last hand is yours.

What exists now, and what comes next

Today’s product focuses on teacher tools and supported student and family workflows. School-wide administration and measuring accommodation effectiveness are longer-term goals.

  • Teacher Portal

    Live today

Import real classroom materials, run Class Lens or UDL analysis, get tool recommendations, and generate differentiated versions tied to stored student profiles.

  • Student Portal

    Live today

Teachers scope an assignment with goals, rubric, and limits. Students enter a code for a tutoring session designed to guide them with questions and scaffolds. Teachers remain responsible for reviewing how the tool is used.

  • Parent Portal

    Live today

Parents log in with a private access code for their child to see accommodations in plain language, ask a scoped assistant questions, and send notes back to the teacher.

  • Admin Portal

    Looking forward

A planned school-wide view of accommodation implementation across assignments.

  • Effectiveness Tracking

    Looking forward

The next major step is measuring whether accommodations and SAI minutes are changing outcomes, so teams can make decisions with real evidence.

Our promise

AI is only as useful as the expert behind the steering wheel. AIccommodate keeps your material and your expertise at the core. We don’t replace teachers — we give good teachers superpowers.
