From material to accommodation

The core workflow is simple: bring your own material, identify the access barriers, generate supports, then save or export what works.

1

Import the original material

Paste text, upload a file, import from Canvas or Google Classroom, use a URL, or bring in a YouTube transcript.

Open wizard
2

Read the accessibility signals

Look for the barriers the app flags: vocabulary load, missing background knowledge, limited response formats, and executive function demands.

Analyze material
3

Choose the tool that matches the barrier

Use the recommendation list or jump to tools like Vocabulary Builder, Reading Scaffolds, Writing Scaffolds, Reference Sheet, or Graphic Organizer.

Browse tools
4

Save, export, and reuse

Keep useful outputs in Saved work, then export to PDF, Google Docs, or formatted clipboard content when you are ready to share.

Open saved work
5

Add assignment-scoped tutoring

Turn on the AI Tutor from any assignment page when students need guided support. The tutor uses that assignment, its rubric, your goals, and your guardrails.

FAQs

Answers before you stop moving

The most common questions are grouped here. For anything more specific, Atticus can answer in context.

Ask Atticus
Where can I see my tutoring sessions?

Choose AI Tutor in the top navigation. Tutoring Sessions brings your tutoring assignments, settings, and student access codes together in one place. On an assignment page, open More in the top bar to find AI Tutor.

How do I review what happened in a tutoring session?

In AI Tutor, choose Session Reports to review completed sessions. The Session reports link on an assignment page opens reports filtered to that assignment. Reports become available after a student ends a session; they are not a live view of a student’s conversation.

How do I change the tutor settings for an assignment?

Open the assignment and use its AI Tutor settings to review the rubric, goals, and guardrails. You can also choose Edit on a tutoring session in AI Tutor. Review and save your changes before sharing the student access code.

Does AIccommodate create curriculum from scratch?

No. The core workflow starts with teacher-provided material. The app helps adapt, scaffold, differentiate, and export that material.

Which imports are supported?

Text, file uploads, URLs, YouTube transcripts, Canvas, Google Drive, and Google Classroom are supported depending on your connected accounts.

Where do generated materials go?

Use Save to Library from supported tools. Open Saved work from your account menu to search, reopen, copy, or export saved items.

What is Atticus?

Atticus is the in-app AI chat assistant for special education law, research-backed strategies, UDL questions, and app navigation help.

Does the student tutor give answers?

No. MetaCognAI is scoped to the teacher-provided assignment and is designed to scaffold through questions, not hand students final answers.

Who do I contact for account, billing, or product issues?
